07.02: Sufficiently Advanced

[Joshua]

"Uh, she was sort of killed in the line of duty. Publicly." He sighs, "She heals fast, that's probably how she does what she does. She's some kind of superdog... Always has been. Saved my life a few times, and countless others."

[Sadie]

Nuzzles her head under Murphy's hand affectionately. Realizing she's being lazy she decides to help dig. Dirt flies everywhere, she's pretty fast and effective at this... Ridiculously so actually. Superdog indeed. She slows down once she realizes she's hitting people with dirt clods and whimpers an apology to everyone.

While half amused and half annoyed by getting dirt thrown at him, Solten replies to Murphey, "So, I take it other people think she's dead? Or did she rise from 'dead' publicly too? And how, exactly, did that lead to..." He gestures around him. "This?"

He glances sidelong at Sadie and throws a clod of dirt at her, saying "You can't be the only one still somewhat clean."

[Sadie]

Sticks her tongue out slightly at Solten and continues digging.

[Joshua]

Lieutenant Dalton (or Lieutenant Murphy if you prefer) Takes a breath and lets people dig. "She can't. The big-heads would dissect her to figure out how she survived so long. Probably while she was still alive. No matter she's a hero, and apparently a civil-war hero at that." He shakes his head. "I guess she wanted to still look out for me when she goes away. This will let me live as I choose for a long time. Maybe... I have no idea what I'll do with it. Probably pick a charity for most of it."

He pauses and thinks, "Are you from that time? By your dress, it's what.. 15th century, 16th?"

"Well my understanding is that we are more from another place...several other places actually. I am still mystified by it myself. In fact learning more about such things is one of the reasons we are here now.

"Hmmm...a thought presents itself. You say that Sadie is leaving? ...and that she needs to disappear to escape these 'big-heads' you spoke of? I am unsure as to what 'dissecting' is, but it does have an unwholesome sound to it. Perhaps she could journey with us. Where we intend to go these 'big-heads' shall be wholly unable to find her. And if she finds a place that suits her along the way that would be fine as well. Of course this would hinge on two questions."

Nuall turns to Sadie. "First, would you wish to come along Lady?"

...and then to Oberon. "Second, is she able come with us? If Asai could, I would assume that Sadie could as well. Or am I just being an ignorant buffoon...again?"

((Apologies for the lack of order, I meant to post earlier but got pulled back into work, then a book.))

Before either Murphy or Nuall have more than a brief chance to react to his questions, Solten responds to Sadie's gesture by smiling more broadly and letting out a small growl as he leaps towards Sadie with the intent to tackle her. Soon, an intense wrestling match is underway. In the midst of it, he says to Sadie, "Now this is much more fun! I should have expected you'd put up a good fight!" What he doesn't realize is that this statement, due to the intensity of the brawl, is mostly telepathic.

[Sadie]

Solten, when you first tackle into Sadie it feels more like you are trying to tackle a large (even for a) kodiac bear rather than a 120 pound mastiff. This lets up almost immediately though, as if the "bear" suddenly remembered she was supposed to be a dog. At this point the fight starts easily going your way. Upon fully realizing she can play rougher with you, however, the fight suddenly shifts completely into her favor for a few seconds and then becomes even for awhile...

*then Solten's touch telepathic link opens* "I... um... what's going on?" she thinks into the link not even fully sure what she's doing.

This throws her off completely allowing for Solten to reverse things back for about a second or two after which she completely reverses it pinning him to the ground while not breaking contact and thus the link. "Are we able to talk like this?" She asks obviously more concerned with this potential revelation rather than playing as demonstrated by the sudden reversal and quick end to the game.

Assuming the answer is yes or some amalgamation thereof, her response to Nuall through Solten will be, "Yes, was my intent the moment you appeared from thin air. Clearly there is more to me than being simply a dog, and from what I've seen, following you is my best bet to getting answers, as there is clearly more to you than being simply men."

PS: There are some assumptions here involving the wrestling match, but I'm pretty confident in their veracity. If I'm wrong we can fix this this up later. Josh give a quick yay or nay on whether my match description seems accurate?

(OOC: the match is fine. If it was a deadly match, you'd want to do it a bit more formally. I'm assuming you worked it out a little beforehand...)

Oberon shakes his head. "Dissecting is when people pull something apart to figure out how it works. If Sadie is that exceptional, it's a disturbingly common reaction. Sometimes they do it with the victim still alive. It's only marginally nicer than burning at the stake." He shrugs, "As for coming with us, not right away. We'll head over to a high magic world where we can talk more easily. Just to be safe. We want to be careful who we take home." He adds, "Although, she seems fine."

Murphy blinks at Sadie talking with Solten. "Forgive me, but are the three of you human?"

"I shall not speak for my companions here, but I for one am all too human with all of the failings and foibles that go along with that." Nuall grins and winks. "And perhaps a few more for good measure."

Nuall starts to shovel again and then pauses. "Just how much more digging do we need to do?"
