"No," the giants all shake their heads (which gives them an excellent opportunity to look nervously at each other.) "Zambooni was," they point at the troll the ogre mage had been possessing, "Ever since he went off and learned magic a few years ago."

Maya telepathically tells Kerberos to go retrieve the body. "This thing (pressing her foot down on it's head with her superhuman strength, crushing his skull so his brains ooze out between her toes), was using your leader's body as a puppet."

Kerberos returns and drops the body in front of Maya.

"You have new leadership now. Unless of course someone would like to challenge my claim?" Maya trails off with a predatory grin that makes it clear she's looking forward to any such foolish attempts.

"Oh," comments one of the giants.
"Huh," comments another.
"I guess that would explain how he picked up that ridiculous accent."
"And why he changed his name."

None of them seem particularly inclined to step up and challenge Maya.

Maya: "Go home. I'll catch up later."

The giants, with relatively minimal further prodding, go home.

Merlin looks at Dazzle and shrugs. "Well, that was certainly an interesting diversion. We should probably head back, though; there should be cake by now."

"Indeed! It seems that we are done here, for now." Hatcher has already started heading back, slowly, to allow other people to catch up.

When you get back to the wedding site, there is, indeed, cake; it seems that the whole affair with the giants is being viewed as merely a minor diversion. Of course, this could be in part due to the presence of Korginthrinavoxargus; having a giant blue dragon on hand does much to bolster morale. Even if he's currently napping.

The wedding continues with various presents for the newlyweds, most of them practical items aimed more at Merlin than Dazzle - though one particularly intrepid old lady did manage to create a dragon sized quilt. Kaina and Korgin apparently contributed the wedding rings themselves - presumably enchanted - and saw no need to add anything else. (And no, Maya is not the only guest who didn't bring anything, nor does anyone seem inclined to complain about - or even mention - that.)

And, finally, a few kegs of fine drink* are rolled out, and the wedding devolves into general partying; clusters of people chattering in various spots around the clearing, or dancing, or chasing each other in circles just for the sheer fun of it.**

_____
* Locally brewed, so fine may be a relative term. On the other hand, I doubt there's anyone present with a sufficiently refined palate to actually care much.
** Well, what did you expect from a group consisting mostly of werecats?

Maya leans against a nearby tree and watches, unsure.

Hatcher walks up to Maya, with a slice of cake in hand.

"If you aren't much for the partying, you should at least have some cake. It's quite good!"

Hatcher looked like he was going to add something, but instead just offers Maya a slice of cake.

"Um, thanks." Maya takes the chocolate cake and looks at it oddly and sniffs it. "What is this "cake?" It does not look like a product of any plant or animal I recognize." Hesitantly takes a bite. Eyebrows furrow as she looks at the cake almost irritably. "It seem Mr. Willoughby was right after all... Thank you Hatcher, the cake is... good."

"You are very welcome, I am glad that you like it. Cake is a baked good, so there wouldn't be any plant that looks like it. You should try pastries some day , They are quite... interesting." Hatcher then adds, "There is plenty of cake should you want seconds." Hatcher motions towards a table that, indeed, contains much cake.

With that, Hatcher heads back to the festivities.

It doesn't take long before Maya finds her way over to the cake table where she proceeds to make a royal pig of herself.
