"Of course. This should take just a few minutes..."

Willoughby waits patiently.

"So," asks Ametrine as the proprietress works on the watch. "How much is the Omicron-Flanders Mark Seven Special? Does it come with any weasels?"

She ignores you, totally immersed in the delicate work of checking Mr. Willoughby's watch. Perhaps Mr. Willoughby could answer the question, though? There are a few documents lying around detailing prices and multi-purchase deals for various items...

Willoughby picks up a largish parchment tag located next to the Omicron-Flanders Mark Seven Special. "Ah, hmm. The sales description states that the Omicron-Flanders Mark Seven Special comes with one (1) leather-bound operating manual-- dear me-- and one (1) deluxe clockwork weasel. Alas, it is priced at no less than two thousand platinum."

"That's a lot of platinum!" says Ametrine, before poking his head into his bag to count his money.

"Hmm, don't have any. This could be bothersome. How much is it without the weasel?"

Willoughby peers at the tag. "It appears that the deluxe clockwork weasel is offered gratis— free— as a sign of appreciation for one's patronage. Refusing it does not lessen the purchase price of the Mark Seven Special itself."

The proprietress finally looks up. "There we go. Yes, perfect timing as always."

After considering several options of acquiring the clock - including the unspoken "Operation: Use Insanity Breath, Grab the Clock and Run" - Ametrine admits defeat.

Shaking his fist at the ceiling above, he shouts "I'll be back! One day, one day, the Omicron-Flanders something something whatever clock shall be mine!!"

Then, with a smile, "Okay, ready to go when you are, Mr. Willoughby."

"Excellent," says Willoughby, with prim, though sincere, satisfaction. He smiles a beatific smile at the clerk of the Aran Clock & Weasel Shoppe, collects the pocketwatch, and carefully restores it to its usual station. "Good afternoon to you, madam," he says, and glances again at the Mark Seven Special. "I fear our return will not be delayed too long."

He rejoins Ametrine, and the pair walk back into the rain, seeking the Lady Eleanor.
