There is a cheer through the crowd at Harrune's speech.

Eventually, the course is broken down, making space for the football game.

Where are people:
  • Lady Alystrakos is talking to Kizak and Raven.Dragon and such are the topics.
  • Harrune is between scenes, with is family.
  • Morek is attempting to shake off the burn of what just happened. He's in his observation box for the big game.
  • Cameron is in a tent with a getting-dressed Zunkir and Father Stormroar. Looks like the scene is ending.
  • Rasanam and Lyra are between scenes as well. As is Aibne.
  • Odin is heading to talk to Dworkin. Off camera, currently.
  • Grim and Blitz are preparing for the football game.
  • Daq Nott has retired. He's not so into football.
  • Regent Ashara is still settled into the stands. Darnell is nearby; part courtier, part bodyguard. He is drawing her likeness, perhaps for a trump.
  • Pluto is still around and talking to Ossian. The topic is currently the speech.
  • Oberon was here for the speech. He'll be around and findable.
  • Father-Confessor Lane is findable. He'll probably show up somewhere.
  • Most other npcs are around, I just haven't thought of a good place for them.

There was some concern that there would be a brawl after the results of the dwarves losing. Well, apparently there is.

For those unfamiliar with mob football, to quote:
These archaic forms of football, typically classified as mob football, would be played between neighbouring towns and villages, involving an unlimited number of players on opposing teams, who would clash in a heaving mass of people struggling to drag an inflated pig's bladder by any means possible to markers at each end of a town. By some accounts, in some such events any means could be used to move the ball towards the goal, as long as it did not lead to manslaughter or murder.
This means you have dwarves in full-plate with morning-stars facing off against orcs on dire-wolves using battle axes (dulled for the battle) in a massive brawl. Lots of pain and injuries. Thankfully both sides do have some healers, and actual attempted killing is frowned on.

(OOC: This scene has gone on for too long.)

Anyhow, this game is payed to best of 3. After the first round... well, the dwarves have more staying power and the orcs aren't willing to 'fight to the death' for a game. The dwarves win 2-1, being more willing to commit resources (and money) to the game... Lots of minor and semi-major injuries.

Then people will start cleanup as things start to wind down. The vendors stay open as long as there are crowds.

Wrap-up posts coming soon.

So, some things people are heading out to do.
  • Ashara is bowing out of her engagement with Darnell. She hands him a card, and accepts a few back from him.
  • Morek is getting in a little-too-public* argument with Kothir.
  • Father-Confessor Lane is currently having an argument with a tall cat-like being built like a tank and holding a brass-like spear.
  • Rogbar is heading off with an exceedingly pale goth lady with black hair**.
PCs are in various places, and unless anyone objects, the next day should be starting soon. (Only a few scenes are left.)

*: This is very out-of-character for the dwarf. Almost like he wants the entirety of Ht'Gon to know he was there.
