"From what I've seen, the books are kinda like titles: they are a good starting point but they don't tell the whole story. We tend to be more, and sometimes less, than how the books portray us. But their goal is to tell a good story rather than to be historically accurate, so there is a lot of artistic license involved."

"Transformation isn't all that rare where I come either really. Spells, weres, mutants, aliens, the list goes on. For what it's worth I can cast transformation spells too, I just almost never carry one ready. I kinda prefer my natural form."

"As for Raven, I've never met him myself so hard to offer any real opinion there. Maybe it's more about the spirit than the body? Or your Court seems a bit under-represented. Maybe it's some form of, I don't know, existential affirmative action? Maybe there's more complexity to the rules than there appears to be on the surface. It is a small sample set to judge by."

Oberon will nod. "Hard to tell. Perhaps, it is that simple. It is said the pattern itself judges and chooses." He will think a bit... "If you talk with Dworkin, he may very-well force you onto the pattern. That has happened a few times this festival. Here's a few things you should know..."

The description is short, but boils down to, 'don't stop' and 'don't sep off the pattern'. He will also warn you about the 3 veils but admits they will be personalized.

"Thank you. That tells me a lot of what I need to know. Since you say it is personal no one can tell me everything. Then again, the magic tests almost always are personal."

"And thanks for the advice about Dworkin. I think maybe I'd better steer clear of him for now. This whole journey wasn't my idea, and since I got here things have been moving really fast. I haven't even seen enough of this place to know if I really want to stay. Once I walk this Pattern it sounds like the choice will be made, and I really would like to make the choice for myself. ...if that's possible. From what you and Quin have said if Dworkin is determined then I may not be able to avoid him."

"I'll admit there is something about this place. It feels...right...kinda like home, or at least like it could be home Maybe I really do belong here, but still I'd rather go slow and be sure before I commit."

"Well, there are those who have been allowed to stay, like Lady Alys.." He will gesture toward her and Cameron. "Although, perhaps he decided she already made her choice, and the pattern was not needed. I suppose if you think you might stay, that will be enough. Still, I am not sure if we have need for a superhero. I mean, we do have a crime rate... Actually, I think Alys would be the one to talk to about that as well."

He will shrug. "And, who knows? perhaps the pattern will be what you need. When I walked it, it allowed me to fix most of the issues in my home shadow. At least, the really big ones. I let the small ones work themselves out. Uh... Rasaman and Lyra are handling something similar. I never did ask them how they made out on their honeymoon home."

He will finish whatever food he had gotten. "So, who'd you like to talk to first?"

Kevin grins and even though his hood obscures his eyes he still someone gives the impression of a sardonically raised eyebrow. "How they made out on their honeymoon? Now that's a much more personal question than I'd ask. Sorry, couldn't resist that one."

"Maybe you don't need a superhero here, but maybe you do after all. We'll see. If not, I suspect there's always something a good sorcerer could do around here. I'm sure I could find something to keep me busy if I put my mind to it. If not there's always the road."

"So who first? Good question. Part of me says I should start with Morgana since we're on her turf. That would seem to be the most polite option. On the other hand, maybe I'm better off getting myself a little better grounded before I do that. Maybe I should speak to Lady Alys first. And since she's with Cameron he could probably give me a little more insight into the non-humans here. Does that sound like a plan?"

Oberon will perk up... "Looks like Morgana is about to be called away." he will observe, likely from the same sense that trouble is brewing that a superhero develops. "Doesn't seem too serious. So... I'd guess Alys is a good one. Did you want an escort?"

He will assume not, and return to his enjoyment of the jousting finale.

"No, thank you. I think I can walk that far without an escort. Thanks. You've given me a lot to think about. It is a big help. If I need your help I'll look you up. That cuts both ways. If you need me, let me know. Come what may I plan to be here for at least a few days. Best of luck to you in your games."

With that Kevin will walk off to continue his "meet and greet".
