Now you've done it. You just asked an eccentric (read: mad) inventor about one of his designs. Unless stopped, he will launch into a several hour discussion (bringing you up to the time of the ball) about the flash of inspiration that caused him to create an 'inverted diving bell' which lead to a portable pool with filter, which led to the aerator, which lead to the first prototype of his device (which he still has and is wiling, no... eager to show you). He's sketched everything, anatomical gill graphs for the breathing and a few autopsies of different fish-like species in no less than 8 different shadows....

(On the other hand, everyone but Rasanam is quickly and completely forgotten if you want to explore forbidden areas on your own.)

Krajk will politely trail along on the exposition exploration. For the most part he seems more interested in the surroundings than in Nemo's chattering, but he does speak up on occasion with a comment or question that does show he's been paying attention, though again primarily to the non-magical parts. He's more interested in the fact that there is an underwater semi-airbreather city than precisely how it was done - he may not know particularly much about how it was done, but he's got a better idea than most the sorts of complications involved in underwater habitats/structures.

Lyra remains with the Nemo and Rasanam, walking arm in arm with her husband when possible. Visiting Rebma makes her wonder if there are any civilizations beneath the surface of Akra's harbor and surrounding waters. She interjects a few questions of her own, taking a genuine interest in Nemo's inventions and research. Eventually, after realizing how long they've been focusing on Nemo's interest, she asks "Nemo, I was wondering...It seemed like some residents were not particularly happy to see our group arrive. Would you be able to elaborate on the tension? If there's a problem that we can address, it'd be best to do so soon so this evenings ball doesn't make anyone uncomfortable or worse."

Nemo will launch into a socio-economic lecture that would put Leonardo (Da'Vincci, not the Ninja Turtle) to shame. Highlights include that Rebma provides about 80% of the food for the city (who is ungrateful) and has discovered most of the existing trade routes, works security, and is seen as almost a ghetto / worker population when in many ways Rebma has equal or superior levels of culture to the air breathers.

Plus, people dump sewage into the streets and it washes into the bay. (It's less than most medieval cities, but still...)

Reacting to the last comment about the city's waste, Lyra says "That's pretty horrible. I'm sure we can devise a way to more appropriately dispose of the city's waste. We'll certainly address that along with your other concerns. Part of my hope in coming to the Ball this evening was that I'd be able to finally see Rebma and learn of it's people. While we may all be from different courts, we're all part of the same larger society here. Noone should feel they're being discriminated against. That's one of the reasons we had hoped to speak with Ashara about."

At "I'm sure we can devise a way...", Rasanam has already flipped to an open page in his notebook and started sketching out designs for a 'proper' sewer system for the city...

Since you already arrived at the ball, something stops Neno from losing an entire week to the design. Still, it's would be hard to get him away from designing Venice or similar. he has clearly lost Lyra's question in his sense of academics.
