Dinner is served. (Or at least, when there's a lull in your thread, this will occur in it.)

A small group of waiters enter the room with large appetizer plates. Filled with an assortment of sushi and sashimi, clams, crab-cakes, shrimp cocktail and other seafood and similar plates, they are clearly there to highlight the amazing and plentiful ocean that surrounds Amber. For those of you who are hungry, pace yourself. Anyone who'se been around for a while (or if you want, a NPC noble can point this out) knows that the dinner is 4 courses. (Appetizers, Meat/Stew, Salad/veggies, and desserts.)

Accompanying each place setting are a number of spider-silk bags, sized for a slightly oversized deck of playing / tarot cards. They are labelled with names of the PCs and NPCs and are dyed a pleasing color (or pattern) to the person they're intended for. Inside Each contains a trump deck. Each contains the 19 cards listed (although if anyone joins the game, a 20th card might be retconned in) and are slightly cool to the touch (not unexpected considering it's the middle of winter). Any more experimenting, you'll need to do in game.

The second course is Boeuf a la Nicoise, a beef stew with tomatoes and olives over buttered noodles. Despite the winter time, it is clear to those with discerning palates that the tomatoes were picked fresh that morning, the balsamic vinegar is aged 18+ years (yeah, not technically possible either), and all the ingredients are remarkably and impossibly fresh (even the ones that can't get ripe at the same time). Extra noodles and stew are placed in the center of the table.

(Again, when appropriate to your thread,) Dworkin enteres when all the tables are served, along with a large nordic man with one eye. They head towards the raised dais where Dworkin will be making an announcement.

(It is strongly recommended you don't try to directly interrupt. Mostly cause of the guards and it's a major breach of protocol and will likely be suicide, but... hey, it's your game. ^_^ I'm putting the pause in here so people can get threads to a pause before they react to something outside.)

Dworkin stands in front of the large center throne and announces, his old voice carrying despite its lack of volume, "Greetings Amber and other courts. Welcome to the Seventh Winter. I trust you are all enjoying your gifts. Unfortunately a matter has come up and I will not be dining with you this evening." He gestures to the newcomer. "This is Odin. A... um..."

"Colleague," prompts Odin.

"Colleague who is here to observe the new courts. He will be staying the festival, and I hope all of you will give him the respect a true diplomat from another land is due." Dworkin looks behind himself and out of the balcony briefly. "We will be retiring to the highest tower of Tir-na Nog'th for tea and conversation. I hope you will forgive this breach."

Without further fanfare, Dworkin and Odin exit the room through a side door.

Slowly things are wrapping up. For those ready for course three, the fruit course is Grilled Fruit over grilled lettuce.

Dessert is: Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Seems that plots are starting to get going. So, let this happen at it's own pace and things can start happening.

Shortly after dessert is served, Oberon, Nuall and Solten join hands in a triangle, each holding a card in the center. A few minutes later, they seem to flatten, then are pulled into the card which vanishes in a gentle burst of color.

There is a minor dance after food. Although it's not the focus of the evening, there are plenty of those who are willing to stay. As an OOC note, there's a more formal dance at Rebma the next night.
